労音とは

労音とは、全国勤労者音楽協議会の略称です。全国各地に会員を有する音楽鑑賞団体で、1949年11月大阪で創立しました。
労音の特徴は、会員（聴き手）が中心となって企画・運営を行うという、世界に類を見ない音楽鑑賞運動です。65年の歴史の中で労音の果たしてきた役割は計り知れないものがあり、日本の音楽界のみならず国際的な評価も含め、社会的にも高く評価されてきました。
戦後間もない発足の頃、それまでは高嶺の花であった音楽会を、勤労者を中心とした一般市民のものにしてきたこと。多くの音楽家等と協力しミュージカル・バレエ・オペラなど数多くの作品を制作し、音楽創造に大きく貢献し、これを通して多くのアーティストを育ててきたこと。海外のアーティストを招聘し国際交流を深めてきたこと。鑑賞活動と合わせて、会員参加の大合唱運動を広め、現在の日本の合唱運動の基礎を築いたこと。音楽鑑賞活動を通しさまざまな音楽に触れ、勤労者の情操と教養を高め、人間性の向上を図ってきたことなど、労音運動は日本の文化と音楽界に大きな影響を与えてきました。

東京労音は1953年に発足し、東京都・神奈川県・埼玉県・千葉県・茨城県などでコンサート（例会）を企画・運営しています。クラシック、ポピュラー、伝統芸能、落語、世界の民族音楽など幅広いジャンルの例会を取り上げ、音楽の鑑賞を通して、豊かな人間性を高めることを目指して活動を進めています。

About Ro-On
Ro-On is an abbreviation for the National Workers Music Association (Zenkoku Kinro-sya Ongaku Kyo-gikai); a nationwide music appreciation organization that was founded in November, 1949 in Osaka, Japan.

Ro-On is unique among similar organizations from around the world as its organization and operations centralize around its association members. Throughout its 65 year history, it’s contribution to the Japanese and international music scene have been immense, and it’s cultural impact immeasurable.

Shortly after it’s inception after the end of World War II, Ro-On was vital in making musical concerts affordable to the general public, a luxury that was previously affordable only to the upper class. Ro-On expanded the Japanese music scene by collaborating with various composers/musicians in commissioning opera, ballet and other styles of music. The organization has also worked with international musicians, strengthening it’s relationship with the international community. Through it’s programs, Ro-On has helped to promote an increase in participation as well as general appreciation for choral ensembles within the general public and has greatly influenced the development of Japanese culture and music scene.

Tokyo Ro-On was established in 1953 and organizes/operates in the Tokyo area including Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, and Ibaraki. By including various genres such as classical, popular, traditional, comic and world folk into their performances, Tokyo Ro-On aims to educate and enrich our understanding of our humanity.

労音運動の基本理念

私たち労音運動は、「良い音楽を安く、多くの人びとに！」のスローガンのもとに、音楽を愛好する広範な人びとの要求を組織し、良い音楽を普及することを目的とした大衆的で、民主的な鑑賞運動です。
労音は、音楽を愛好する人なら、誰でもが個人として参加できます。私たちは、広く市民のあいだにサークルを基礎とした組織をつくり、運営は民主的におこなわれます。
会員は、情操と教養をゆたかにするような過去と現在にわたる内外の音楽の鑑賞を通じて、相互に人間的な成長をめざします。
私たちは目的を達成するために、多くの音楽専門家等と協力していきます。
